Some frequently asked questions are: What will it cost? What do I need to do? What wine do I do?
The first thing you need to do is to make sure that it is legal to serve wine you have made yourself at the function and the venue where you are holding your reception will allow you to bring in and serve wine that you have made yourself. The law in BC says you can’t serve this wine at any function where you need a special liquor license. You can make wine that you give to quests at the function, but they have to take it home to drink it. You can also serve this wine at a reception in your own home.
If you live in a complex that has a clubhouse, that is usually considered part of your home. Next you need to decide what wine you want to make. Generally you need to have some of both red and white. As everyone’s taste is different we suggest that you remember you need to please the majority of your guests. We will be happy to make suggestions for you. It is suggested that you have enough wine for each person , both seniors and youth, as even though the youth may not be legal to drink the seniors generally help them out. General rule of the thumb is a half bottle per person.
The price of course will depend on quality and quantity of the wine you choose. We have wine kits you can make from $4.50-$6.50 per bottle the choice is yours. The important thing to remember is you need to make it ahead of time so that whatever you choose has some time to age.
